Second Pot

This is a pot to be used in a baby's room. I used one tile each of yellow, pink, aqua and green. The rest of the tiles are an off white. I have NOT finished the painting so this is only a preview. It will probably take at least five coats of yellow paint to make it look right. SOLD

New Pot

This turned out better than I expected. This is one of two pots that were ordered for gifts...she asked for blue and grey!!! I had my doubts before I started it...but I must admit....the colors look great together. Take notice that I used two different shades of the blue for a little interest. SOLD

Margaret's Pot

Well...I finally made good on my promise.....I planted a Christmas cactus in the 60's vintage pot and tiles and delivered it to her on Saturday. She seemed very pleased......a wonderful lady....great friend. I hope when looks at the little pot she will think of me and smile.

I have started on two flower pots (that are already sold) and a flower on a piece of wood with a hanger on the back.... I really can't call it a picture frame....you will just have to wait for the pictures. Hopefully I will have them completed later in the week.

Jewelry Box

This is the only project that I completed this weekend. A small jewelry box....the color didn't show true...it is a soft pink.

Tile Purchases

These are my most recent tile purchases....I have no idea what I am going to use them on...but I buy things that I like and decide the projects later!!!

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

I have looked at thousands of tiles on the Internet and in person and nothing has ever come close to the beauty of this tile. This tile is from the 50's...on the back it reads "Pat Clincher Old Bridge" made in the USA. Notice the details...it has a crackle finish and the thickness is unlike anything made today with the exception of marble. My dear friend Margaret gave me this tile also. I hate to sound selfish...but this tile is going to be used on a future project yet to be determined...that I will be keeping for myself!!!!

A very dear friend named Margaret gave me this pot and the tiles. They both are from the 60's...notice the detail on the pot...you can't buy that kind of quality anymore. I think I will put a plant in this lovely pot and return it to the original owner as a gift of appreciation for her thoughtfulness.

A small tray....notice the pretty tiles...they are from the 60's and they were made in the USA!
